Brendan J. Smith

Chief Executive Officer and Founder
Brendan Smith oversees all aspects of the operations of the Company with a focus on new business development,
strategic relationships, design and technology. Prior to founding Motive Interactive, Mr. Smith served as Senior
Business Development Manager for NetCreations, Inc., a leading opt-in email marketing company. At
NetCreations, he built a team responsible for developing business opportunities with strategic partners, such as
MSNBC, CNET, ZDNet, Tech Republic, and Tech Target.
Prior to NetCreations, Brendan had built seven distinct web based businesses all reaching profitability within less
than four months of launch. These travel, technology, and survey based web sites generated a 100% double opt-in
user membership that exceeded 2 million unique registrations, and have been featured in many national publications
and websites, including Newyorkmetro.com, The Village Voice, The New York Times, The Washington Post,
Travel And Leisure to name a few.
Brendan is a member of the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) Lead Generation Committee, as well as a
founding member of The Online Lead Generation Association (OLGA). He was recently recognized as one of the
top entrepreneurs in Nevada. Brendan graduated from West Virginia University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in
History.
Colin Johnson

Founder
Colin plays a key role in the company’s overall management,
with his primary focus being in the marketing and sales areas. Colin takes the lead in expanding new client
relationships, and formulating Motive’s vision and mission. His passion is structuring exclusive partnerships with
Publishers who have developed unique websites and want to fully monetize their businesses. If this describes you,

Before starting his own business, Colin was a Senior Sales Executive at NetCreations Inc, where he successfully
built revenue streams within various online vertical markets. At NetCreations, he managed some of the company’s
biggest clients including American Express, E-Loan, Goto.com and Pet Smart.
Another one of Colin’s passions is soccer, and he once played for the Wilmington Hammerheads in the U.S.L. He
holds a BS in Management from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
Sean E. Duggan

Chairman and Chief Financial Officer
Sean E. Duggan’s primary focus at Motive is strategy development and implementation. He also oversees the
Company’s finances, investor relations, and legal affairs. Together with Brendan and Colin, Sean crafts strategic
relationships with other organizations that accelerate the Company’s growth.
Prior to joining Motive, Sean spent twelve years in Seattle working as an Internet Management Consultant with both
large companies (MSN, AOL, Yahoo!) and start-ups (Virtual Countries, LiveBid.com, IAM Online). He also taught
Strategic Planning and Business Policy to second year MBA students at the University of Washington’s Graduate
School of Business.
Prior to consulting, Sean was Corporate Vice President and General Manager of a $250 million division of the
Continental Can Company. Before Continental, he was Vice President of International Operations for Bausch &
Lomb, Inc., where he managed three brands that were the global leaders in their categories (contact lenses, eyecare
solutions, and Ray-Ban sunglasses).
Sean began his business career in Display Advertising with the
Los Angeles Times. He received his MBA degree in Marketing from the Anderson Graduate School of
Management at UCLA. He has served his country in both the United States Marine Corps and AmeriCorps.
Mohammed J. Kabir
Board Advisor - Technology
Mohammed J. Kabir serves as Motive’s primary technology architect in a consulting capacity. Kabir is the CEO
and founder of EVOKNOW Corporation and has been developing sophisticated web-based applications for over ten
years. Kabir is an expert in open source programming and has written twelve books on the topic, many of which
have been translated into other languages. Web-based applications at EVOKNOW are built exclusively on the
"LAMP" platform – Linux, Apache, MYSQL and PHP, which are among the most widely deployed and used pieces
of open source software and allow for rapid application development.
Before founding EVOKNOW, Kabir served as co-founder and CTO of INTEVO, Inc. a venture funded startup that
worked with top advertising agencies including Grey Advertising and Beyond Interactive to develop an enterprise
class database profiling and e-mail marketing engine. Prior to INTEVO, he co-founded Integration Logic, Inc. which
provided open source consulting services to major companies including, Lucent, Blue Cross, Centocor
Pharmaceuticals and Edelman Public Relations.
Scott Estes
Vice President of Marketing and Sales
Scott is responsible for driving marketing, sales and product strategy for Motive Interactive. Scott brings over 12
years of online specific, marketing, strategy, product management, operations and business development experience
to Motive Interactive.
Prior to joining the Company, Scott was the Executive Vice President and General Manager of Experclick, a
Carpinteria, CA based advertising network where he managed the market strategy and daily operations of the
company. He has also held senior level positions with ValueClick and Search123.
At ValueClick, Scott was the Director of Search Advertising where he oversaw sales, marketing, affiliate
management, operations, and client services. During this time Scott integrated search advertising into ValueClick
and developed a highly successful advertiser recruitment program using the Commission Junction Affiliate
Platform. He holds a bachelor's degree in Psychology from Humboldt State University.
Mike Schwartzberg
National Director of Lead Generation Sales
Mike was one of the first employees of Motive and has been instrumental in the Company's growth. As Director of
Sales, Mike manages all aspects of the Company’s day-to-day sales activities, including our sales force and account
managers.
Prior to joining Motive, Mike was a teacher in Northern Nevada. He believes that the experience he gained in this
capacity prepared him for the unique challenges of working with advertisers and publishers in the interactive media
space. Mike is a graduate of Cortland State University in New York.
Jennifer Christy
Director of Strategic Media
Jennifer joined the Company in 2006 and is responsible for building our display networks,
marketing, and new product development. Prior to joining Motive Interactive, Jennifer served
as a Senior Media Buyer for ExperClick Inc. In this role, she was responsible for managing
partnerships with ExperClick’s largest publishing partners.
From 1999 to 2005, Jennifer served as a Team Leader for Commission Junction’s Publisher
Account Management Group where she spearheaded partnerships with Quixtar, Upromise,
AT&T Worldnet, Earthlink, MyPoints, Starpulse, Shopping.com, PriceGrabber and DealTime.
Jennifer holds a BS in Marketing from Berkeley College.
John Teotico
VP Administration and Controller
As VP Administration and Controller, John manages all of the day-to-day
financial, administrative, and human resource functions of the Company.
Prior to Motive Interactive, John had been involved in a CFO or Controller
capacity in a variety of industries including technology, pharmaceuticals,
and e-commerce, most recently for a leading automotive buying portal and
consumer information website. Many of the companies John has been associated
with have either had a successful IPO or been acquired. John received his
bachelors degree in Accounting from San Diego State University.
Cary Etcheverry
Director of Technology
Cary brings over five years of technical expertise in online advertising start-ups and growth companies to Motive. As Director of Technology, he manages the Company’s developers, programmers, networks specialists and external technical teams.
With 16 years of experience as a manager, developer, and software architect, Cary has a passion for a variety of online advertising business models, including affiliate marketing, CPM/CPL/CPC/CPA, data-driven content, data mining, and email marketing. His core competencies include emerging Internet protocols, programming in a LAMP environment, and managing talented technical teams to aggressive timelines.
Prior to Motive, Cary worked for Brand Interactive, Premier Retail Networks, and EDR Technology. After receiving his BS Degree in Management Information Systems from the University of Arizona, Cary began his career with Computer Sciences Corporation.
Edward Shannon
National Director of Display Advertising
Edward Shannon is the National Director of Display Advertising for Motive interactive. With over 10 years of online sales experience, Edward has held senior advertising sales and executive positions with industry leaders such as ABOUT.com, The UNDERTONE NETWORKS, and Internet Advertising Group. He began his interactive career at About.com as an Account Executive where he was responsible for agency and client relationships in the nation's top advertising markets.
Edward was part of the team that helped launched The Undertone Network, and was instrumental in Undertone's rapid expansion and its attaining the highest revenue numbers in the company's history. Prior to Joining Motive Interactive, he was the VP of Sales for Internet Advertising Group (IAG). At IAG, he was responsible for overseeing the sales and account management teams, and was instrumental in the development of all department operations. Edward was the driving force behind the growth of IAG from a small startup to the industry leader it is today.
Edward earned a Bachelor of Science degree in criminal justice and business law from St. John's University.
